A dirty or damp filter, a packed cyclone or a blockage. Wash the filter and let it dry completely before refitting.

Why does my Dyson V10 keep cutting out?
The most common cause is a blockage, which makes the machine pulse or stop to protect itself. A worn battery, especially on the highest mode, or a fault in the cleaner head can also cause it. Use the cut-out dial above to narrow it down.
How long should a Dyson V10 run for?
Dyson rates the V10 at up to 60 minutes on its lowest mode with a non-motorised tool. The highest mode and the motorised head use far more power, so runtime drops sharply.
Why won’t my V10 cleaner head spin?
Usually hair or thread wrapped around the brush bar, or a jammed end cap. If it still won’t turn once it’s clean, the head or its motor may need repair.
Is a replacement battery or head included in the $95 service?
No. The $95 service covers servicing the machine. Replacement parts are quoted separately, before fitting.
Is it worth repairing a Dyson V10?
Usually, yes. The V10 is a strong machine, and most faults come down to the battery, the filter, a blockage or the head, which cost far less to fix than a new vacuum.
