What usually goes wrong with a V15.

The V15 Detect is Dyson’s most advanced trigger model, so it’s worth fixing properly. These are the faults we see most.

Blockage warning or pulsing

The V15 shows a warning and pulses when airflow is restricted. Check the bin, filter, wand and head inlet first.

Short runtime or won’t charge

Batteries wear with age, and boost mode uses far more power. Chargers and charging contacts can also fail.

Cleaner head not spinning

Hair wrapped around the brush bar can stop it. If it still won’t turn when clean, the head or its motor needs repair.

Trigger or screen problems

If the trigger won’t start it or the screen won’t respond, stop forcing it and have it looked at.

Gen5detect or V15?

Thinking of upgrading because your V15 is playing up? Fix the V15 first. It’s usually a fraction of the cost.

Dyson V15 questions.

Is a Dyson V15 worth repairing?

Almost always. It’s an expensive machine, and most faults come down to the battery, a blockage, the filter or the cleaner head. We’ll tell you what it needs before any parts are fitted.

My V15 screen shows a blockage warning. What do I do?

Switch it off and check the bin, filter, wand and cleaner head inlet for anything stuck. If the warning stays on after clearing it, book a service.

Gen5detect or V15: should I upgrade?

The Gen5detect is Dyson’s newer model. It starts with a power button rather than a trigger and has more suction. If your V15 runs well after a service, there’s usually no need to replace it.

Do you repair the Dyson Gen5detect?

We service Dyson cordless stick vacuums. If you have a Gen5detect, contact us first so we can confirm before you book.

Is a replacement battery included in the $95 service?

No. The $95 service covers servicing the machine. Replacement parts such as batteries or cleaner heads are quoted separately, before fitting.

Can you collect my V15?

Yes. Pickup and return is $30 within about 15 km of the Melbourne CBD, or $125 together with the service. Check your suburb.
