Dyson models do not all share one motor speed, filtration rating or tool system. Read the specifications and owner guide for the exact machine before applying a feature claim across the range.

Separate airflow and collection features

A bagless collection design still needs the manufacturer’s bin and airflow care. Cyclone technology does not mean the bin can be overfilled, every blockage is prevented or a fixed force specification applies to all models.

Distinguish illumination from sensing

On supported Detect models, head illumination and particle information are separate features. Lighting can make dust easier to see on suitable surfaces; it does not itself increase suction or diagnose a failing motor. Follow the model’s screen explanations and tool instructions.

Check filtration and control specifications

Use the exact published filtration rating, power-mode instructions and supplied-head details rather than universal 125,000 rpm or 0.3 micron figures. A particle-capture specification is not a promise of allergy relief. Unusual sound or weak pickup needs troubleshooting; a feature description does not identify the fault.

Read the manufacturer owner guidance and match its instructions to your exact variant and attachment.

When to stop owner checks

Stop use if there is a burning smell, liquid exposure, visible battery damage or electrical damage. Do not open a motor housing or battery pack, bypass protection or repeatedly reproduce an unsafe fault. Send the exact model and symptoms for advice.
